Also, don't underestimate pistols, that damn scrambler pistol scares me more than a HMG if its in the hands of a good player.
The Flaylock does 200+ damage to armor.

Shield tanking.
You don't lose speed for adding buffer, you regenerate faster, and you can get the same buffer size as armor tankers, and you have an easier time fitting stuff because CPU/PG upgrades are low slots. |

I was saying that if you put a weapon that does the exact same damage to both, shield will always win.
Its just superior in every way.
